Dance Gavin Dance - Me and the Zoloft get Along just Fine

Dance Gavin Dance may seem like they are your little sister’s next favorite band, but if you are to pry deep into a listening of their new self titled release you will find yourself thinking much differently. The up-beat and erratic noise that some may shutter at, really does hold a much higher meaning. The contrast between an the melodic singing voice of Kurt with the raspy yet clear screams of the lovable Jon Mess sets them apart from the wave of hardcore bands on the scene these days. The track that stick’s out on the new self titled is “Uneasy Hearts Weigh the Most” which features guest vocals by Nic Newsham, formerly from Gatsbys American Dream. It gives you a break from the time signature crazy guitars, and tempo loving drums. Some previous DGD fans do find the change in lead singers a slap in the face, but Johnny Craig was not in a sound place, and the band is stronger then ever now. Catch them on their upcoming tour hitting every spectrum of the nation along side of A Skylit Drive, Attack Attack!, In Fear and Faith, and Lower Definition.
